GamesShot down in flames
My previous news mentioned a rumour that Bioshock might be heading to the PS3 but an official Bioshock moderator on their forums has stated "Please don't tell me you made an account just for this question ... There will be no PS3 version of BioShock. It has been explained time and time again". So I guess that's down and dusted.

The Shipping News
GamesIn the shipping news today.
Need For Speed Pro Street has officially shipped to stores, it gets to Europe on the 22nd, and I believe oodLes has already finished half of it.
The customization of the cars is rocking, apparently the demo was a god awful representation of the real thing.
With a wind tunnel for aerodynamics's testing, how can it go wrong?

Also, the banned in Australia because its to violent, Soldier of Fortune: Payback is out in country's with decent rating's schemes.
Be prepared for it to be limb-blowing off fun.
Its going to be good*.

Strategy Informer have a video of the upcoming zombie shooter titled "Dead Island". Picture Hawaii, if run by George A. Romero.
Its only 43seconds long, but it shows a very nicely done face, and then zombie-fies it.
Check it out.

DivX Playback coming to the PlayStation 3
Console NewsThe PlayStation 3 is a media hub like few others. It can handle high-definition movies, upscale DVDs, read pictures from memory cards, not to mention play PlayStation games. And it seems that soon the PlayStation 3 will gain the ability to playback DivX-encoded media.

DivX Inc. today announced that its video technology will be integrated into the PS3, adding to the over 100 million DivX Certified products shipped into the market.

"We are excited to work with Sony Computer Entertainment to bring DivX to PS3," said Kevin Hell, CEO of DivX, Inc. "Our technology will expand the multimedia functionality of PS3 by enabling users to enjoy access to the broad library of content in the DivX digital media format."

DivX is currently working to certify its software on the PS3 and current PS3 end users will be able to add DivX functionality to their systems via a separate system software update at a forthcoming date.

Furthermore, game developers are now able to utilize DivX's decoder technology in the latest version of the PS3 Software Development Kit. Of course, with the whopping 50GB made available to developers thanks to Blu-ray Disc, one has to wonder if video compression is yet necessary.

Wow! How many hours of DivX content do you reckon you could fit on a 50GB Blu Ray disc? If I bought a console it'd be the PS3..

Brittan's search for a Motto.
NewsNew PM in the Father Country has decided to put up a competition for a motto to sum up "England".
There have been some good ones.
- Great people, Great country, Great Britain
or
- Pride, passion, history, monarchy & exploration

But.... there are some better ones...
- Embracing the tawdry and second-rate
- You're having a laugh, mate.
- We strive for valiant defeat
- Let's discuss it down the pub.
- We apologies for the inconvenience (A line from Hitch Hikers guide to the galaxy. Its God's message to creation...)
- Our glass is half empty.
- Well we screwed this up
- At least we're not American

There's more here.

RUMOUR ALERT: Bioshock heading to PS3?
There isn't much news here but it has been speculated again that Bioshock might be heading to the PS3 after all, but I guess the answers will come at eGames on Friday as Dean Tate and Jonathan Pelling, 2 of Bioshocks designers, will be there.

In other news Infinity Ward are currently in the process of fixing many of the bugs in CoD4's online play. This includes greatly improved speed and stability for matchmaking of online games and a general revamp of the sometimes confusing online lobby.

And finally just some news for the PS3 people. The Dual Shock 3 controller has finally been released, in Japan at least. Now you can finally have your rumble, just a couple of months behind the competition....
It seems we will have to wait until 2008 for them but at least we know they're on their way.

Holy Crap! Thats alot of news!!!
GamesHere's a quick rundown on the latest happenings.

Activision recently purchased Bizarre Creations, the creators of Project Gotham Racing series, however, due to Microsoft's licencing of Xbox games, Activision do not get the rights to the huge racing franchise. Instead, it is retained at Microsoft.
Word in the E-Vine is that Microsoft will transfer its Dev's from the studio that created Microsoft's own racing game Forza to work on a new Gotham title.
As the Project Gotham franchise is much larger, expect a new release, but expect it to be much the same as Forza.

Core 2 Extreme QX9650 processor reviewed!
HardwareThe latest processor is out and put through its paces. Things are looking as expected, with overclocking a cinch and 4ghz speeds achievable with little effort and huge performance across the board in all applications. Oddly however unless overclocked it appears on par in a lot of applications with the QX6850.
